New York & New Jersey | My last week

Now that I've finished my new website, I have time to catch up on old stuff ;)

I was living in NYC for three years and recently moved to the west coast. I'm not a musical kind of girl but thought, "I'm in New York City…I have to go to one before I leave." Since I'm a big fan of The Wizard of Oz, I chose Wicked. Holy cow!! I LOVED it!!! It was such a wonderful thing to see! The singing, the wardrobe, the cast…just perfection! I highly recommend this show. My only regret is that I didn't see more shows. Next time :)

The next day was 4th of July. In order to watch the Macy's fireworks, we headed to Brooklyn. Surrounded by thousands, we found a perfect spot. We were able to catch the fireworks at Liberty State Park, as well.
The fireworks were live from the Brooklyn Bridge. It was just a lovely show…cascading down the bridge. Swoon. We even had a view of the Empire State Building. Just fantastic!
After, we headed to New Jersey. I lived in Battery Park so I had the NJ skyline view daily. I know, I'm a lucky girl ;) I had been wanting to go to the Empty Sky Memorial for about two years. I had to go before leaving!
I saw this. Every. Day. Love love love.
Liberty State Park's view of NYC skyline.
We then went back to NY and headed to this beautiful castle.
Can you imagine living here back in the day?!
Bannerman Castle is located in Pollepel Island, near Newburgh, NY. Go take a tour if you're around there ;)
After the castle, we headed to Niagara Falls. What a view!
To get a real feel of the falls, we took the Maid of the Mist tour. It was awesome. Be prepared to get very wet. Very.
Heading back to NYC.
Got hungry around Windsor, NY and found this little place with very good pizza. Plus, the town was adorable.
and this is how I spent my last week in NY. :)
ooxx,
M.
