Life in the South {Mexico}

Instead of my regular Life in the East on Fridays,
I am going to post a little bit of my trip to Mexico. Since Mexico lies
South of the USA, I've titled it "Life in the South" :)

Hope you have a lovely weekend, all!

Here are the highlights of my trip...

...being able to spend time with my extended family! Even when I lived in Arizona, I didn't have time to drive to Sonora and visit as often as I wanted. I have to be honest, it's not my favorite place in the world, Hermosillo, Sonora, but once I'm there, laughing and eating with my family, I don't really want to leave. This was a great trip and I'll never forget it. I was able to visit with my funniest, supportive and favorite aunt before she passed away. I was able to share with her my past two years that have been the hardest of my life and I'm so grateful I was there for her even if it was for only a few hours a day for a few days.

Eating is recommended in the Durazo Family :) Most of my mom's side of the family are great cooks and eating is one of our favorite pastimes heehee. Another reason I can't spend as much time as I'd like...my belly always seems to grow when I'm there. This simple salsa is my fave!
There are a lot of singers in the family too. I didn't get this awesome gene so I stick to taking photographs :) I'm not a beer drinker but dang, that Tecate looks so freakin' refreshing!
This was a very fun night spent with my girl cousins :)
Another wonderful thing I did with my dad's side of the family was going around Hermosillo to the poor neighborhoods and deliver lots of food, clothes and presents! This was a great experience that I always wanted to do with them but was never able to make it during Christmas time because of one thing or another. Look at those beautiful eyes on both of them!
This little girl was beautiful as well and I reeeeallly wanted to take this doggie home! How adorable is he!?!
Got to hang out with some friends as well and enjoy some good cocktails and, yes, more good food :)
Another highlight not shown was being able to have sessions with family members and friends!
Those will be in a post of their own! Here's my cousin, Fabiola's mini sesh in case you missed it!

Once again, enjoy your weekend where ever you may be...the East, the West, the North or South :)

OO & Bisous,
Mayra
